Excite your senses with us in this food and wine lover’s paradise, touted as the cradle of the Slow Food movement. Admire the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage landscapes of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato Hills. Breathe in the local Northern Italian culture and lore.
DAY 1: Friday, September 16: Departure / Travel Day from USA: US to Milan / Malpensa Airport. Select your preferred flights from US; flights and times will be coordinated.
DAY 2: Saturday, September 17: Arrival Milan / Malpensa Airport 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM target time; group transfers together from airport to our residence near Asti. Welcome dinner at the Cascina La Galeisa (19c farmhouse.) Balance of evening to settle in; explore the property.
DAY 3: Sunday, September 18: Asti. Breakfast in home; day spent in and around nearby villages gathering food and supplies. Our first cooking experience in our home to make brunch; afternoon riposo. Casual walk to dinner to the local Osteria Verderame in the nearby hilltop town of Castiglione Tinella.
DAY 4: Monday, September 19: Barolo. Alba truffle hunt - wine tasting. Breakfast at home. Hands-on lunch and cooking instruction with local guest chef. Light dinner at home or Italian Aperitivo at a local spot.
DAY 5: Tuesday, September 20: Turin. At the foot of the Italian Alps; sports cars and chocolate are a matter of pride! Breakfast at home before exploring the Palazzo Market – Europe’s largest open-air market. City walking and chocolate tours. Free time for museums and shopping. Hosted dinner together in Turin before returning home.
DAY 6: Wednesday, September 21: Barbaresco. Receive instruction from local experts about the popular vintage of this region. Lunch with a view at Michelin-starred La Ciau Del Tornavento. Explore nearby Serralunga d’Alba. Simple dinner we prepare at our farmhouse.
DAY 7: Thursday, September 22: Genoa. Breakfast at home. Grand walking tour of the city where pesto was invented! Discover hidden treasures, street food, best bars, hidden spots and ancient palaces. Dinner together in Genoa before heading back home.
DAY 8: Friday, September 23: Alba. Breakfast at home. Free day to explore the city (a rooftop tour may be part of this adventure) and enjoy a spectacular final farewell dinner!
DAY 9: Saturday, September 24: Departure / Return Travel Day: Breakfast at home before transfers to Milan / Malpensa airport; departures to final destinations.
Guests to purchase own airfare using miles and preferred class and upgrades. Please target your arrival in Milan Malpensa (MXP) between 12 Noon and 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 17. We will transfer as a group to the newly restored 19c Farmhouse, 2 hours west of Milan in Asti. Guests are responsible for their return flight on Saturday, September 24. Guests may arrive earlier or stay longer than the published itinerary, but are responsible to meet the group at stated times for group transport. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Payments: Cash or check accepted; PayPal for credit / debit card payments to include a 2.75% service fee
Cancellation Policy: We are willing to work with all our guests should situations arise that require guests to cancel plans with us. Please understand we have guidelines to ensure that both the operator and our guests are treated fairly. With that, travel insurance is highly recommended, to reimburse you should cancellation be necessary. Epicurean Exchange reserves the right to cancel a tour due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the trip non-viable. Deposits and balances paid will be refunded if the trip is canceled by the operator. Travelers can cancel up to 60 days prior to departure and receive 50% refund of their deposit. Understand that as a small, boutique operator, even one last-minute cancellation can be an issue for the operator and other travelers. Therefore, after deposits and tour balances are received (all 60 days or less prior to departure) they are non-refundable. Travelers have the option to recruit another traveler to take their place or file with their insurance carrier to recover costs of the trip.
